Grand Master Phap Lu, the Secretary General of ITF, visited Malaysia from the 11th – 16th January 2013. In conjunction with his visit, a technical seminar was held in Johor Malaysia with over 130 participants, all of which are black belt holders.
Grand Master Lu taught the many aspects of ITF Taekwon-Do techniques and also shared his vast knowledge in meditation.

Tryouts for 2013 TKD World Championships held in USA on 17th Feb., 2013
Successful tryouts held on February 17, 2013 to select the U.S. National Team for the 2013 World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The USTC organized and carried out the tryouts in coordination with the NATF, led by Master Ramón Mateo, to select the top fighters from each organization. The logistics of the event were managed by the members of the USTC Executive Committee. Participants included athletes from Rhode Island, New York, Florida, Ohio, Virginia, and Massachusetts.

"On 15th February 2013, Austria Vienna, ITF President Dr. Chang Ung is honored with the 1st ever Society (UN) Magazine's Lifetime Achievement for his work in spreading peace through the martial arts."

The recent seminar and IIC conducted by Grandmaster Phap Lu in Melbourne from 18-20 January was a brilliant success. The Grandmaster shared his knowledge and wisdom of Taekwon-Do, his memories of General Choi and his thoughts and ideas on how Taekwon-Do can progress.

Report of the 3rd ITF National Taekwon-Do Championships in Herat Province, Afghanistan

This championships has been conducted on November 16, 2012 on the occasion of (94th Birthday Anniversary of General Choi Hong Hi) by AANTA in Herat Province of Afghanistan.

International Seminar - Edinburgh, Scotland

The United Kingdom Taekwon-Do Council (UKTC) hosted an International Seminar in Edinburgh, Scotland, from 11th - 13th August 2012.

An International Technical Seminar was held in the historical city of Melaka, Malaysia from 13th to 15th July 2012, conducted by SM Tan Chek Si.
He was assisted by SM Mohd Azwan Khoo and Master Johnny Chai.
Also present throughout the 3 days seminar were SM Chan Kum Lau and Master Ong Siong Wee while SM Kim Sam Duk was present on the second half day.

On the weekend of the 29 June 2012 an International Technical Seminar was conducted by Senior Master Augustus Mitchell in the Grenada Taekwon-do Academy in St Georges, Grenada.

Senior Master Mitchell 8th Dan and Master Sanchez 7th Dan welcomed Grand Master Villanueva 9th Dan to the historically rich city of Oxford, UK for a short break in June where they had arranged for him to conduct an International Seminar.

On the 6th of June, a huge celebration of taekwondo ITF was held in Brno. The event took place in the most prestigious venue in the international hotel Boby Centrum on the occasion of the second round of “Moravian team league” - a series of Taekwondo ITF competitions which have been established to promote and popularize this beautiful martial art in the Czech Republic.

It be realized in INICE (National Institute of Investigation and Educative Capacitating), in Tegucigalpa M.D.C. Honduras, the days 9 and 10 of June.
The seminary was imparted by the Seniors Masters Eduardo Palmisano and Raul H. Bonilla. The Seminary was a success with a good participation of students, instructors and Masters from Honduras and Nicaragua.

As all of you know well, the 10th Year Memorial Service for late Gen. Choi Hong Hi has taken place in Pyongyang, DPR Korea on 15th Jun. 2012, where Gen. Choi Hong Hi, the Founder of Taekwon-Do, rests in peace.
Present at this ceremony were Mrs. Choi Chun Hi, the Widow of late Gen. Choi Hong Hi, Prof. & Dr. Chang Ung, the ITF President, and the Masters & Instructors of Korean Taekwon-Do Committee.

The EITF European Championships opening ceremony took place in Sofija in presence of ITF President Prof Dr Chang Ung, EITF President SM Michael Prewett, EITF Secretary General Mr Drago Macek, President of Bulgarian ITF Mr Mario Bogdanov, representatives of Bulgarian Olympic Commitee and Minister of sport and physical education of the Republic of Bulgaria Mr Svilen Neykov.

The Queensland Self-Defence and Taekwon-Do Academy (QSDTA) continues to offer new opportunities for those that are willing and able to grab them. The chance to travel to Thailand for a training camp was, by far, one of the most enjoyable and challenging offered to date. The 58 QSDTA members and supporters that attended Train Thailand 2012 camp and tourist activities demonstrated the commitment our students have to experience everything the Academy can offer them.

It was an historic occasion when the International Taekwon-Do Federation Thailand hosted the ITF President Prof. & Dr. Chang Ung and Executive members including Vice President Grand Master Leong Wai Meng, Grand Master Hwang Ho Yong and Executive Director General Master Ri Yong Son, Sectretary of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee Mr, Kim Kang Chol, President of the All Australia ITF Senior Master Robert Lai, Senior master Jon Tae Yong from China, President of the Queensland ITF Assoc. Sabum Anthony Coleman and QITFA Executive members Sabum Jeff Dieben, Sabum Kris Richardson and Sabum Marcelle Dieben.

The 6th Asian Taekwon-Do Championships were successfully concluded on April 30th, 2012 in Dushanbe Tajikistan
The 6th ATC was successfully held from Apr. 25th ~ 30th, 2012 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
The Opening Ceremony was held on Apr. 27th, 2012 at МАЧМААИ ВАРЗИШЙ stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. In the Opening Ceremony participated His Excellency MAKHMADSAID UBAYDULLOEV, the Chairman of the Upper Chamber of the Tajik Parliament, Mr. MALIKSHO NEGMATOV, the Minister of Sports & Youth Tourism, Prof & PhD. Chang Ung, the ITF President and over 380 participants in the Championships including competitors, umpires, coaches, officials from 18 countries and over 1000 audience.

The 1st Oceanic Camp was conducted on the 20th-22nd April 2012 in Palmerston North, New Zealand. Overall there were close to 60 participants, comprising of students, instructors and some non-ITF practitioners (parents, caregivers, caterers). There was a contingent of 18 practitioners from Australia with ranks from 6th Dan to 6th Gup.

Information on the Master Seminar held in Chiang Mai, Thailand
As having been well-informed to the members, the Master Seminar had taken place in Chiang Mai, Thailand on 4-7 Apr. 2012.
The seminar has run very successfully with more than 40 participants across the world including Grand Masters and Senior Masters in attendance.
