On the 19th and 20th September a technical seminar under the leadership of senior master Hwang Ho Yong, VIII Dan, took place in Almere, The Netherlands. It was the first time that senior master Hwang gave a seminar in The Netherlands. He was invited by the Dutch NGB to give a weekend seminar in the Netherlands.

More than fifty enthusiastic Taekwondoin came to Almere to train the whole weekend with senior master Hwang, technical director of the ITF. He was assisted by our Master Bart Stokhof VII Dan and Sabum Martin Zámečník V Dan from Czech Republic, who also translated the Czech into understandable English.

The weekend started with the fundamental exercises and besides telling us how to do it, he also explained why they had to be executed like that.

At first the breathing had to change a bit, because we focused too much on the mouth instead of the technique. After that the sine wave was explained in detail in order to generate more power. But not only techniques were explained and practiced, also the Do. He thought us about the tenets and the oath of Taekwon-Do.

Then Tuls Chon-Ji until Choong-Moo were analyzed and practiced in detail.

On Sunday we began with sparring. We started with three steps sparring and ended with free sparring with a knife.

After the break we practiced Kwang-Gae until Juche and self-defense. And we ended with special techniques and power break training.

We learned a lot this weekend and went home satisfied!
