The 5th TaekwonKids and 4th TK-1 Junior 2009 Tournament was held at the Burwood Police and Community Youth Club Australia on 31st May 2009. There were over 120 competitors from 11 different clubs competed at this junior tournament... as big as National Championship!

The opening ceremony proceeded in style with national anthem played and senior pioneer TaekwonKids Izumi Tam read the competitor's oath followed by Sabum Alan Luong read the referee's oath. A spectacular demonstration was performed by Regional Taekwon-Do Team in the Self -defence routine in the lead up to their World Championship later this year in St.Petersburg. Thank you Sam Mangelsdorf, Sarah Fitzgerald-Holmes and Robert McMahon for an very entertaining performance. Our TaekwonKids demo Team also displayed a choreograph Choong-Moo Tul. The team members, Nicholas, Izumi, Serene, Taisei and Nathan really inspired the rest of the juniors and hyped them up for the tournament. The tournament was officially declared opened by Sahyun Tam Fook Chee. Many thanks to all instructors, coaches and officials who made this tournament a memorable and success.
