Taekwon-Do Marathon in Czech Republic
On 7th and 8th April Czech Republic has organized in Nymburk International Technical Seminar with Senior Master Hwang Ho-Yong (Chairman of ITF Technical and Educational Committee, VIII.Dan). There were 67 participants on the seminar from 8 countries (Canada, Greenland, Cyprus, Russia, Croatia, Poland, Switzerland and Czech Republic).
Senior Master Hwang conceived the seminar like a composition of Taekwon-Do (Taekwon-Do Goosong). We started with practicing basic techniques, continued with patterns up to 3rd Degree and after them with system of sparring and practicing self-defense. The seminar should continue on Friday with practicing dallyon. After the seminar there were being held exams for promotion from I. up to VII. Dan.
On 9th April there was being held in Nymburk Tournament Czech Open 2011, in which participated 270 competitors from 10 countries. There were not missing e.g. Canada, Cyprus or Wales. Also almost half of all participants were black belt holders.
And finally on 10th and 11th April - the last event in this 5 days marathon. There was being held the International Instructors Course with Senior Master Hwang Ho-Yong. This event was first of its kind so all participants were at being expected what they get to know.
There were 26 participants on the seminar and about a half from Czech Republic. Senior Master Hwang emphasized that the international instructors are more like teachers of Taekwon-Do and not only sports trainers and they must teach Taekwon-Do in all its latitude, especially the part of “Do”.
The next schedule of seminar was about instructor titles, theory of Taekwon-Do (charter, philosophy, tenets and moral culture), student and instructor relationship, training secret, composition of Taekwon-Do, Dojang appearance and its equipment, doboks, training plans, grade and degree test, correct commanding etc. During the seminar there were a lot of interesting questions, so we hope that this seminar was really useful for the true Teachers of Taekwon-Do.
